I've got a room full of old shoes
old ghosts, papers and memories
a dusty floor and dusty dreams—
I've never done much sweeping
or I'd sweep you off your feet
onto a bed
you didn't have to share
with my old shoes—
but I'll push the shoes away
and lay you on my bed
and learn to dance
with a girl for a broom
and we can be together
making a mess of things.
